Stretch marks – something that all women can’t seem to escape from! Stretch marks can appear due to a number of different reasons, from pregnancy, weight loss to weight gain, general growth or extensive physical activity so no matter what you do you can’t escape them. Sometimes the best remedies are the ones you can put together from the comfort of your own home so why not try out some of these recommended remedies?

Drink lots of water
Drinking plenty of water is one of the best ways to minimize the appearance of stretch marks. Properly hydrated skin is smoother and suppler, causing your skin to look and feel more toned thus eliminating some of the unsightly “bumpy” qualities of stretch marks. Keeping yourself well hydrated will also help prevent new stretch marks from forming. Try to drink up to ten glasses of water daily to keep your skin properly hydrated and minimize the appearance of stretch marks. You will also find all of your skin improves with the more water you drink.

Dry body brushing
Dry body brushing is one of the beauty industries best kept secrets when it comes to removing stretch marks. Dry body brushing helps to stimulate circulation in the skin helping to eliminate toxins and dissolve stubborn cellulite. It also helps to reduce stretch marks as it speeds up the skin renewal process.

Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera gel is a very effective treatment when trying to combat stretch marks. It contains properties, which can help to moisten the skin as well as heal it in multiple ways. All you need to do is rub the aloe Vera gel on the stretch marks, if you want to enhance this further, make a mixture with a little cup of aloe Vera gel, 10 vitamin E capsules and five vitamin A capsules. Rub this mixture onto the skin until fully absorbed. Repeat this process daily.

The sugar rush
This home made mixture is a another great way of treating stretch marks while enjoying a little bit of TLC at the same time. This lovely mixture couldn’t be easier to make. Pour some almond oil into a bowl and add to it a tablespoon of raw, white sugar. Add a few drops of fresh lemon juice and mix well. Massage the mixture into your stretch marks every day for a few minutes before taking a shower. After a couple of months your stretch marks will appear diminished.

Regular exfoliation and massage
Using some exfoliating gloves and a body scrub or salt based scrub will remove dead skin cells and help to reveal the new skin underneath, thus helping to eliminate stretch marks. Each time you shower or bath exfoliate the areas where the stretch marks are. After your shower you can then give the area a firm massage with an anti-stretch mark cream to help speed up the process.

When it comes to removing stretch marks it’s something that wont just happen over night. It takes time, effort and perseverance and over time your stretch marks will start to disappear.
