Applying lipstick perfectly isn’t as easy as it may seem. Doing it effectively requires 6 steps to ensure your lips are conditioned and smooth and your color is applied neatly and will last. Do you want colorful luscious lips? Follow the steps below to achieve a stunning pout!
- Start with a blank canvas
Before you do anything in regards to color, you need to ensure you have a perfectly blank canvas to work with. To achieve this you need to exfoliate your lips. Using a new, dry tooth brush gently rub your lips to remove any excess skin from your lips. This will leave you with a smooth firm surface to work with. After the exfoliation you then need to add some natural moisture. The best things to use are Vaseline or a natural skin oil such as coconut or jojoba. Allow the moisture to soak into your lips until they are dry but moist.
- The first layer
When you apply your foundation, make sure you dot a little on your lips to give them a base coat for the color that will be going onto them. This will make your color last longer.
- Line those lips
This is something that often gets overlooked. Lining your lips is probably the most important step when it comes to applying your lipstick perfectly. Choose a lip liner that is a shade darker than your lipstick. Line round your lips first and then color in all your lip. Coloring your lips in will provide a perfect foundation for your lipstick to cling too.
- Apply the lipstick
The fun part – applying that beautiful color! Now you can apply your color, choose your lipstick and take a lip brush. Brush over the end of the lipstick until the bristles hold plenty of color. Start by applying the color to the middle of your lips working outwards to the corners of your mouth. Using a brush will allow you to achieve better precision then just using the lipstick.
- Remove any excess color
After you have applied the color, it’s time to neaten it up and remove any excess, as the last thing you need is lipstick on your teeth. You can use a tissue by grasping it in-between your lips or you can grip your finger with your lips and pull it out as this will remove any excess lipstick you cant see.
- Finish the job
Once our color is on then you need to fix it in place. You can purchase some lipstick fixer witch is usually a clear liquid and brushes onto your lips. Initially it’s very tingly but don’t worry it soon dries and it will keep your color in place.
Applying lipstick should be fun. A beautiful, colorful pout sets off your face and can give you a radiant glow! Feel free to get creative and add a little sparkle to your
