Eyelashes are a crucially important part of your personality; when you’re out on the town, it’s important that they stand out as vibrantly as your dress!

As such, there have been several creations over the years allowing you to bring them to life as fully as possible, letting you to stride out in confidence and steal the night.

We’re going to look at two of the biggest developments; eye lash extensions and lash growth serums, and see which one of the two is either better or more suited to you individually!

Eyelash extensions

Likely the most common of the lash enhancements available on the market, eye lash extensions are an awesome, immediate way to enhance your lashes natural look and the process to place them on usually isn’t horrendously expensive either. Options range from DIY kits to full on lash extension treatments within a health and beauty spa.

One option simply involves you gluing (no, not with your standard super glue, this is specialized stuff and comes included) your chosen set of lash extensions over the top of your existing eyelashes. The other option involves having artificial hair individually glued, strand-by-strand into your existing array of lashes in order to pad them out and change their shape to suit your preferences.

Eyelash growth serum

Growth serum is a less direct but arguably more sustained method of getting the perfect set of lashes. What it involves is simply an application of the serum onto the eyelashes, which in turn promotes healthy growth and a fuller, luscious look. It’s also worth noting that growing lashes in this manner means they theoretically hold their appearance for longer, whereas extensions will on average last roughly four weeks.

You have a variety of options available when it comes to serums, but what’s absolutely crucial is that you do your research before buying, as some are highly effective, whereas others aren’t at all. Be prepared to pay for quality, but equally, be prepared to reap the rewards quality offers too.

Which one is best?

Neither! The truth is that they both serve entirely different purposes. One is an immediate solution to a lack of lash length and thickness, whereas the other is a slower acting but allegedly more sustainable option. They both work, so really it’s up to you to decide which one suits your individual needs the best.

If you only need to enhance your lashes for a super special occasion then extensions are obviously the way to go, however, if you feel like you’ve been suffering from a distinct lack of lash power for a prolonged period of time now, then it might just be that the serum is the better option for you, being that it’ll sustain your lashes appearance for a longer period of time and you wont have to worry about purchasing a treatment every 3-4 weeks.

Either way, you’ll be a winner and come out of it with a luscious set of lashes, so go with your gut and make your purchase according to the situation you’re in and whether or not you need a quick fix or a life change!
